This Privacy Policy explains what information Dar Open Play ("DOP") collects, how it's used, and how it's protected. DOP is managed by Pickle in Dar, a branch of OwosTanzania, an i-NGO registered in Tanzania.

What we collect

When you create an account and use DOP, we collect:

Your name, phone number, and date of birth
Your DUPR ID and DUPR rating, if you provide one
Your gender (used only for gender-specific game categories)
Records of the games you sign up for, your payment status, and match scores you're involved in
A profile photo, if you choose to upload one
Basic technical information needed to send you push notifications, if you enable them

How we use it

Your information is used to:

Run the platform — process signups, track payments, generate pairings and schedules
Verify your identity and DUPR rating for bracket eligibility
Contact you about games you've signed up for, payment reminders, and account status
Submit match results to DUPR, only for mandatory DUPR sessions or matches all four players have agreed to submit

What we don't do

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your data with anyone outside of what's needed to run the platform (e.g., submitting agreed-upon match results to DUPR itself).

Payments

DOP does not process or store payment card information. Payments are coordinated directly between you and the organizer (typically via WhatsApp) and made through mobile money — DOP only records that a payment was made and confirmed by an organizer.

Data retention

Your account information is kept for as long as your account is active. If your account is deactivated due to inactivity, your data is retained (not deleted) in case you choose to reactivate.

Your rights

You can review and update most of your own information at any time from your profile. If you'd like your account and data deleted entirely, contact us at [email protected].

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the platform after a change means you accept the updated policy.
